Job responsibilities


* Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors


* Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others


* Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes


* Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus


* Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle


* Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies

* Oversee end-to-end architecture for advanced data platforms, including audience management, data hubs, and real-time decisioning systems


* Lead the design, delivery, and optimization of solutions that handle high volumes of data and meet sub-second SLAs


* Guide and mentor engineering teams in technical delivery, best practices, and performance optimization


* Influence cross-functional teams to adopt and integrate advanced data solutions.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience


* Development experience in Java and/or Python


* Experience building RESTful backend applications using Spring Boot


* Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, etc.


* Experience in designing, building, and maintaining API services, with knowledge of Microservices Design Patterns


* Experience working with tools like Terraform to provision AWS cloud services


* Practical cloud native experience with AWS technologies, like Glue, Athena, and S3
