Legal Discovery Senior Counsel

Legal Discovery Management is JPMC's cross-functional eDiscovery team that works closely with Litigation, Government Investigation and Regulatory Enforcement (GIRE) and HR Legal to help tell the story of what, when, how and who were or weren't involved in the issues of a case, using the information and data created by people and systems every single day.

As a Senior Counsel - Discovery Attorney (Assistant Vice President) within Legal Discovery Management, you will be an integral part of the team dedicated to advising on electronic discovery (eDiscovery) strategy and coordinating the end-to-end eDiscovery process for the Litigation Department in response to civil litigation, regulatory investigations, and confidential internal investigations.

The Discovery Manager would be involved in leading and advising on eDiscovery strategy, the selection and oversight of document hosting and review vendors; and general discovery project management.

You will confer with litigators, internal counsel, outside counsel, business and technology contacts as well as vendors.

Job responsibilities


* Manage the day-to-day case details as the main point of contact throughout the discovery life cycle of a matter among all the collaborating parties.


* Conduct early matter outreach, discovery planning, budgeting, data scoping, tracking, status reporting, managing to timelines, memorializing key decisions and overseeing review and production requests.


* Facilitate early case assessment and review by coordinating with internal attorneys on various matters including high priority and time sensitive requests by conducting key searches, analyzing and reviewing documents, and providing summaries of critical communications and chronologies.


* Devise and implement strategies and workflows for matters and investigations throughout the discovery lifecycle.


* Manage document review on a matter level, working closely with internal attorneys and/or outside counsel, document hosting and review vendors, and internal case management personnel in creating and executing discovery plans.
