Global Senior Accounting Principles Expert (m/f/x)

Within our Finance DHL eCommerce (eCom) division, the Global Controlling & Accounting Governance team ensures compliance with internal and external financial and non-financial regulations.
We define standards for accounting, ESG, ICS, and risk management across our global eCom operations.
We are now looking for a seasoned expert to strengthen our accounting governance team and support our growth agenda.
Your Responsibilities
As Global Senior Accounting Principles Expert, you will:
* Analyze and assess transactions (e.g., M&A) for IFRS-compliant accounting and provide strategic recommendations
* Prepare detailed, audience-appropriate transaction documentation
* Conduct valuations (e.g., asset and goodwill impairment testing)
* Monitor legal developments and IFRS updates, assessing their impact on eCom in coordination with Corporate Accounting
* Lead sub-projects for implementing new or amended IFRS standards
* Develop decision templates aligned with legal and IFRS requirements
* Support M&A projects, including Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) and post-acquisition integration
* Advise eCom country organizations on IFRS accounting matters and ensure compliance
* Coordinate the implementation of group-wide financial policies across countries
* Support cross-functional and divisional projects in applying IFRS standards
* Conduct and enhance balance sheet reviews in collaboration with Corporate Accounting
* Provide reports and insights to Corporate Accounting
Your Profile
Professional Qualifications:
* University degree in Finance, ideally with a focus on Accounting
* CPA or equivalent certification is a strong advantage
* Extensive experience with international accounting standards (IFRS)
* Familiarity with modern reporting systems and digitalization in corporate accounting
* Excellent English skills; German is a plus
