County Service Area Facilities Caretaker

The County of Riverside's Office of Economic Development Department is seeking to fill one vacancy for a County Service Area (CSA) Facilities Caretaker located in Riverside.

The incumbent will travel throughout the county to perform a variety of grounds maintenance, and landscape gardening work for a County Service Area; to perform a variety of semi-skilled building repair and maintenance work; and to do other work as required.

Competitive candidates will possess relevant experience in landscaping, park maintenance, gardening, irrigation, plumbing repairs, and general building maintenance.

Knowledge of power tools is also beneficial.

A valid California Class A commercial driver license is highly desired.

Incumbents of this class perform general gardening and grounds work, and interior and exterior building maintenance.

The CSA Facilities Caretaker is distinguished from other grounds and building maintenance workers in that the incumbent has independent daily responsibility of the care of the facilities of an outlying CSA, including coordinating and supervising the progress of improvement and renovation projects.
This position follows a 9/80 schedule, 6am - 3:30pm with alternating Friday's off.

• Checks buildings and equipment to locate needed repair or maintenance; applies paint to equipment and building interiors and exteriors.

• Maintains and makes minor repairs to plumbing systems, air conditioning and heating, and other mechanical equipment; performs general custodial duties.
