Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the nursing department and ensuring high standards of resident care.

This position involves supervising nursing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, assisting with quality improvement initiatives, and fostering a positive, professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities


* Assist the Director of Nursing in managing the day-to-day clinical operations of the nursing department.


* Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to ensure quality care and adherence to policies.


* Participate in the hiring, orientation, and training of nursing personnel.


* Monitor resident care plans, assessments, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.


* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (including CMS and Department of Health standards).


* Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) programs.


* Assist in infection prevention and control initiatives.


* Support staff scheduling and ensure adequate staffing levels.


* Act as DON in their absence when required.


* Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and clinical excellence.

Qualifications


* Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.


* Minimum 2-3 years of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility required.


* Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.


* Strong knowledge of nursing regulations, MDS process, and care standards.


* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.


* Compassionate and resident-centered approach to care.
