Our Event Manager will be responsible for planning and delivering experiences that celebrate our learners’ accomplishments, engage our alumni, and bring our leaders and community together.
Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role will manage our approach to signature events that reinforce our brand, culture, and commitment to learner success.
Key Responsibilities
* Graduation Ceremonies
Plan and execute Penn Foster Group’s graduation, including venue management, logistics, stage program, staff logistics, data logistics, and ensuring a memorable learner and family experience.
* Hub Events:
Lead planning and execution of events at Penn Foster Group hubs (Chandler, AZ; Boston, MA; Scranton, PA; NY/NJ area; Salt Lake, UT; Atlanta, GA) to foster employee culture and connection.
* Leadership Summits:
Partner with HR and Marketing to organize Manager Summits and Extended Leadership Team Summit, providing input on agenda development, speaker coordination, and onsite logistics.
* Conferences & External Events:
Provide planning support and onsite management for conferences and external events where Penn Foster Group is participating or represented where needed.
This may include launching new events in the future, like alumni meetups or co-learning sites.
* New Events:
Launch and manage new events such as an annual alumni virtual job fair, partnering with partners, PFG teams, and a platform vendor to provide career advancement opportunities for graduates.
* Project & Budget Management:
Manage event budgets, vendor relationships, and project timelines to ensure successful delivery and strong return on investment.
* Collaboration:
Work closely with Marketing, HR, B2B, and senior leaders to ensure event alignment with company goals and messaging.
Skills and Qualifications You Will Need
* 5+ years of progressive experience in event management, preferably in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
* Proven track record of planning and executing large-scale events (e.g., graduations, conferences) as well as virtual and hybrid experiences.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver on time and on budget.
* Excellent vendor management, negotiation, and budget management experience.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to engage senior leaders and external stakeholders.
