Injection Mold Technician
Position Summary
Responsible for all mold changes, machine startup and set up, machine shutdown, and all process troubleshooting.
Ensure all machines run at optimum cycles and part quality is sustained.
Time management, ability to prioritize, and communication skills are critical.
Primary Accountabilities
* Set up molding machine parameters to produce quality acceptable parts for production.
* Troubleshoot and perform process changes as needed on the injection molding machine.
* Perform mold changes quickly and efficiently as scheduled; including robot set up and programming.
* Ensure machines are running efficiently and producing parts within standard.
* Set up of all auxiliary and secondary equipment as required.
* Train operators in running production parts, monitoring their rates, and part quality.
* Set up new tools and help establish and document optimum process.
* Ability to perform basic machine maintenance.
* Replace standard components within the mold such as inserts, springs, ejector pins, and fittings.
* Must be able to operate a forklift and/or overhead bridge crane to move and install molds into machinery.
* Participates in root cause problem solving activities in process and production areas.
* Supports all areas of production as needed.
* Ensure adherence to all required safety and quality standards.
* Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
* Secondary Accountabilities
* Back up trained in Supervision and employee assignments.
* May perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise to balance the workload.
Education: High School Diploma
Years of Experience: 3-5
Licenses / Certifications: Will be required to complete Forklift training/Lock out-tag out training (company will provide).
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to read blue prints and electrical schematics.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access (MPS Data Base).
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
