Temporary Supervisor's Board Assistant

The County of Riverside's Human Resources Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) seeks to fill a Temporary Supervisor's Board Assistant position to support the Board of Supervisors.

This is a full-time, temporary position located in Riverside.

Incumbents will perform a variety of administrative support functions for all five Board of Supervisors (BOS) District Offices.

Serving as the primary Greeter at the County Administrative Center (CAC), they will manage incoming calls and visitor traffic to ensure a professional and welcoming environment.

Stationed at the 5th Floor workstation, incumbents will greet and assist visitors, answer and direct calls, announce appointments, and provide front-desk coverage, including during the holiday season.

Competitive candidates will have the ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and possess key qualities that contribute to a positive and effective work environment.

They will exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, exercise political awareness and discretion, maintain a personable and friendly demeanor, and show a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

This class has been designated At-Will by the Board of Supervisors, in accordance with the provisions provided under Article 6, Section 601E (3) of the County Management Resolution and serves at the pleasure of the individual Supervisor.

• Receive and screen a variety of visitors and telephone callers; ensure that inquiries are promptly answered or referred to appropriate sources; answer questions involving searching for and summarizing technical data, laws, policies, or procedures.

• Answer routine, difficult and hard-to-handle inquiries from all County departments and agencies and the public regarding the County.

• Provide information to the public or interdepartmental representatives in situations where judgment and interpretation of departmental policies and regulations are required; gathers and summarize data on a wide range of subjects requiring knowledge of the functions, services and operations of County departments.

• Design or revise office forms; perform complex clerical work requiring the application of laws, policies, procedures, and specialized terminology; prepare and process materials which require the review of complex source material and a thorough familiarity with policies, procedures, terminology, and various applicable laws in order to obtain the necessary data.
