Software Engineer III - DevOps

As a Software Engineer III - DevOps Delivery at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank - Payment Engineering and Architecture Solutions Delivery team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities



* Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches


* Develop secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others


* Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems


* Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture


* Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies


* Address non-functional requirements to ensure stability, security and scalability of the API infrastructure


* Actively participate in a highly energy global agile team


* Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for the generated deliverables


* Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems


* Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies


* Foster to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills



* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience


* Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability


* Familiarity with container and container orchestration such as Kubernetes, ECS and Docker


* Strong experience with Terraform and automation tooling and scripting knowledge (Bash/YAML), git-based workflows


* Proficient in coding in one or more languages i.e.

Java, JavaScript, or Python


* Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages


* Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
