Westgate Gardens Care Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our dietary team.

We are a skilled nursing facility focused on resident care, comfort, and quality of life—and that starts with delicious, nutritious meals.
Key Responsibilities:


* Prepare and cook a variety of meals in large quantities based on pre-set menus.


* Accurately follow portion control guides and special diet requirements (e.g., pureed meals).


* Ensure food temperatures are properly recorded and documented.


* Keep kitchen and cooking areas clean, safe, and sanitary at all times.


* Assist with meal service and maintain attractive food presentation.


* Maintain proper sanitization (e.g., quaternary solutions in sanitizer buckets).


* Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.


* Participate in staff orientation and training.

Qualifications:


* High school diploma or equivalent.


* Minimum one year of experience cooking in a hospital or long-term care setting.


* ServSafe certification required (or must be obtained upon hire).


* Ability to read and follow recipes, meal plans, and special dietary needs.


* Strong communication and teamwork skills.


* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and reaching.
