Senior R&D Lab Technician
Join us as a Senior R&D Lab Technician and take the lead in shaping the future of our research and development test lab in Montreal.
In this role, you'll ensure our lab runs at its best, managing equipment, maintaining calibration, driving process efficiency, and supporting the automation of testing.
Working within an Agile team, you'll help design and implement innovative test solutions for embedded intelligent devices, continuously improving tools and practices to deliver products that set the standard worldwide.

Your Impact
Lab Operations & Compliance
* Oversee the daily operations of the R&D test lab, ensuring equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and used efficiently.
* Manage inventory, procurement, and lifecycle of lab instruments and test setups.
* Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in all lab practices.
Testing & Validation
* Develop, execute, and maintain test plans to verify and validate new product designs.
* Document and analyze test results, providing actionable feedback to the development team.
* Perform manual, sanity, smoke, regression, and other tests as required.
Automation & Tooling
* Create and maintain automation scripts, tools, and test cases using Python.
* Design and specify test fixtures for automation and collaborate on manufacturing test requirements for product industrialization.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
* Drive process improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
* Partner with test leads, managers, architects, and design teams to gather requirements, prioritize automation efforts, and deliver business value.
* Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
What you bring
* Strong knowledge of functional and system-level testing.
* Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and global teams, aligning on best practices and coding standards.
* Proficiency in Python with experience in developing automated tests.
* Solid understanding of electric circuit fundamentals.
* Ability to read and create electronic schematic diagrams to understand product functionality and design test fixtures/jigs for embedded hardware.
* Experience interfacing programmatically (using Python) with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, AC/DC power sources, multimeters, network devices, and PLCs/DAQ systems.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive, collaborative approach.
* Results-oriented team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
