Firmware Principal technical Expert - Linux Architect

Job Title: Linux Embedded Systems Architect - TI AM437x & Industrial Ethernet

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Embedded Systems Architect with hands-on experience on Texas Instruments AM437x processors, TI SDK 9.1, and TMG protocol stack integration for Ethernet and ProfiNet.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, integrating, and optimizing industrial communication stacks in embedded Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities


* Develop and maintain embedded Linux systems on TI AM437x platforms.


* Customize and optimize TI SDK 9.1 for industrial applications.


* Integrate and validate TMG protocol stacks for Ethernet and ProfiNet.


* Exposure to motor management principles and protection algorithms.


* Work closely with hardware and firmware teams to ensure seamless communication and performance.


* Debug kernel and driver-level issues related to networking and industrial protocols.


* Implement and maintain real-time features and deterministic behaviour in Linux.


* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and integration strategies.


* Document design, integration steps, and troubleshooting guides.

Required Skills


* Strong expertise in Embedded Linux, including kernel, drivers, and bootloaders.


* Experience with TI AM437x processor family and TI SDK 9.1.


* Hands-on experience integrating TMG stacks for Ethernet and ProfiNet.


* Proficiency in C/C++, shell scripting, and Linux build systems (Yocto, Buildroot).


* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (ProfiNet, EtherCAT, Modbus).


* Experience with debugging tools like JTAG, Lauterbach, or OpenOCD.


* Knowledge of real-time Linux (PREEMPT_RT) and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications


* Experience with TI tools like CCS (Code Composer Studio), PRU programming.


* Exposure to safety-critical or industrial automation systems.


* Knowledge of networking stacks and packet analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump).


* Contributions to open-source projects or Linux kernel.

Education


* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
