Software Engineer III

As a Lead Sofwtare Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payment Services technology team, you will join one of agile teams that work to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
You will also manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
* Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
* Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
* Investigates problems and suggests effective solutions to address them
* Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
* Strives to meet guidance set forth by the team lead for software quality, testing practices and runtime efficiency
* Serves as an engineering role model for junior team members
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
* Must have 5+ years of demonstrated recent experience in Java development
* Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
* Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
* Proficient with delivering enterprise grade micro-service based solutions
* Demonstrated practical experience delivering API based (REST or HTTP Based) solutions
* Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security and Practical cloud native experience
* Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
* Very good understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
* Hands on experience working with high throughput, low latency distributed systems ensuring efficient communication and integration between different systems.
* Proven record of providing end-user support with excellent problem-solving abilities.
* In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
