Balance of Plant Wind Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Under general direction, performs routine preventative maintenance and repair activities consistent with policies and procedures on wind turbines.


* Completes quality checks on turbine maintenance and repairs performed by service provider.


* Maintains roadways, collector lines, buildings, fences, and other balance of plant assets on site.


* Operate heavy equipment to clear snow from roadways


* Performs high and medium voltage switching to isolate turbines and electric feeder circuits


* Attends regular safety meetings and follows appropriate company safety and environmental policies.


* Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and adheres to quality guidelines.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:


* High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Preference may be given to applicants that have completed a wind technician training program.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


* Four years or more technical wind industry experience, OR in absence of technical wind industry experience, six years or more experience working with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:


* Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.


* This role requires working outside in all types of weather conditions at heights of 300 feet.


* Must have knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and tools.


* Must be able to lift or move up to 100 pounds.


* Computer program skills (i.e.

Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SCADA systems) required .


* First aid, CPR, AED, forklift certification, and OSHA 10 certification preferred.


* Heavy equipment operations (i.e.

Loader, Grader, Tractor, Manlift) experience is desirable.


* This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:


* The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $26.90 - $33.20.
