Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Scientist in the field of biomacromolecular crystallization, at the Crystallization Technology Unit (CTU), located in Beerse, Belgium.

As a Senior Scientist, you will lead the development of crystallization processes targeted at biomacromolecules, that will be directly used in our chemical manufacturing plants.

You will become part of a dynamic team of crystallization experts that support the whole Johnson & Johnson portfolio of synthetic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).

 In this role, you will collaborate closely with multi-functional teams to identify and select the most effective processes, ensuring the final API properties meet our high standards.

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic crystallization specialist in macromolecules who is passionate about advancing innovative therapeutic modalities.

Key responsibilities:



* Take responsibility for the development of the crystallization process and the downstream processing of the final API in multiple projects in the portfolio.

Be involved from laboratory up to plant scale to address arising problems and guarantee on-time delivery of the final API.


* Broaden the knowledge base on crystallization and downstream processes in the manufacturing of biomacromolecules (e.g.

peptides, oligonucleotides) and small molecules.


* Independently conceptualize and conduct advanced experimental studies to gain mechanistic insights and develop a scalable crystallization process that meets API specifications (polymorph, particle properties, purity, etc.)


* Evaluate crystallization kinetics and thermodynamics to support and/or perform process modelling and design.
