Job Summary

Provides staff support to line management/supervision on safety and loss prevention programs, to maintain a safework environment under the guidelines of the company safety program and governmental requirements and assists with employee relation of field personnel.

Usually works in an assigned geographic area to service jobsites.

He or she may supervise or support on site safety personnel.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Assures compliance with governmental regulations dealing with Safety and Health.
2.

Conducts safety audits for each assigned area/project on a regularly scheduled basis.
3.

Coordinates drug testing procedures in the field.
4.

Identifies and recommends corrective measures for unsafe acts and conditions.
5.

Promotes employee relations and morale of field workforce.
6.

Provides safety training, including developing and conducting safety classes.
7.

Responds quickly to manage crisis situations and investigate accidents.

Minimum Job Requirements

1.

Continuing progress toward attainment of the (CHST) or (CSP) designations.
2.

Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with people.
3.

Position requires five to ten years' experience in construction and/or construction safety.
4.

Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Physical Requirements

1.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
2.

May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
3.

May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
4.

May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
5.

Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
6.

Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
7.

Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
8.

Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day
9.

Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasion...
