Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to join our esteemed team at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

As a Building Engineer, you will have a significant impact on maintaining our facilities to the highest standards and ensuring flawless operation of all systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


* Direct, supervise, and be involved in the installation, operation, maintenance, and fixing of applicable electrical tools, HVAC units, building control systems, and other related systems.


* Investigate and uphold specialty building electrical and mechanical systems, such as fire suppression, kitchen appliances, drinking fountains, and other relevant equipment.


* Direct, coordinate, and carry out all preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.


* Adhere strictly to industry safety practices during all work.


* Uphold exceptional standards of cleanliness in all work zones, encompassing electrical and mechanical areas, building service workshops, and storage sites.


* Perform walkthroughs with vendors, engineers, architects, and contractors for cost estimates, and coordinate building repairs, upgrades, or maintenance as directed.


* Assist with minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical repairs and installations.


* Research building systems and make recommendations for energy improvements and equipment upgrades to the Facilities Manager.

Other Duties


* Lead and take part in addressing the needs of Bank employees and other building personnel.


* Request of new supplies and equipment as approved.


* Consult on various construction projects and may represent the District as an Engineering expert.


* Keep work areas tidy and adhere to all safety protocols.


* Address emergency situations within the building and take part in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.


* Support Division and Department development objectives and encourage a teamwork environment.

Experience + Traits


* 5-6 years of related experience.


* High School or equivalent experience.


* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
