Job Summary
Assess the risk and safety hazards in all aspects of operations.
Facilitate, plan, schedule, and coordinate annual fire drill evacuations.
Answer questions related to safety policies and address non-standard issues.
Track and chart monthly utility usage per building as well as performance metrics.
Ensure classification-specific training for employees.
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine their causes and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Maintain records of incidents and prepare reports for management.
Ensure appropriate safety equipment is available and maintained properly.
Provide support for the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JTDC) youth program.
Minimum Qualifications
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Safety Management, Fire Sciences, or a directly related field is required, and
* Four (4) years in the operation and maintenance of a large, urban, institutional facility or directly related experience is required or
* An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
* Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance is required.
This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
Candidates who are selected to fill safety-sensitive positions must pass a required drug test as part of the pre-employment background check process.
