PERSONNEL STATUS: Part Time

BENEFITS: No Benefits

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is part time up to 19 hours per week.

We are willing to work with your school schedule.

JOB OVERVIEW:

This internship presents an excellent opportunity for a student interested in gaining practical experience in the recruitment process, onboarding, and candidate engagement.

The position will be a part-time position working up to 19 hours per week during each semester.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Participates in a variety of recruitment activities so that the organization's recruitment process is efficient, effective and equitable.

Prepares job descriptions and job postings in accordance with the County's recruitment standards.

Responds to inquiries about the County's recruitment activities and status of job vacancies.

Contacts candidates, schedules interviews, and develops interview questions with the hiring manager so that interviews are conducted efficiently and equitably.

Interviews, tests, ranks, checks references, selects candidates and provides feedback to unsuccessful candidates based on the job's pre-established selection criteria and the County's recruitment policies.

Prepares job offer materials in accordance with the job specifications so successful candidates have all necessary information to decide to accept the position.

Assist in preparing offer letters and pre-employment paperwork.

Support new employees with onboarding documentation, system access, and introductions.

Maintain onboarding checklists and ensure compliance with company policies.

Prepare and maintain personnel files for new and existing employees.

Ensure all required HR documents are collected, signed, and securely stored.

Update and organize employee records in compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Assist in auditing personnel files for accuracy and completeness.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.

Contribute to other talent management and training and development initiatives as needed including participating in a variety of other human resources special projects, as assigned by the Director.

Assist with volunteer applications and hiring volunteers, organizing and filing HR documents, assisting with processing new hires, terminations, position changes, E-Verify, verification of employment, etc.

Assisting with printing, scanning, and filing FMLA and ADA paperwork.

Assist with certain payroll processes like entering garnishments and retirement changes.

Help support employee training and development programs as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
