Development Specialist I (Riverside County Library System)
The County of Riverside's Office of Economic Development Department is seeking to fill one vacancy for a Development Specialist I for our EDA/County Free Library Division located in Riverside.
The Riverside County Library System (RCLS), under the Office of Economic Development, operates a network of 34 libraries and two museums that serve communities throughout the County.
The Development Specialist I will support RCLS by assisting with a wide range of operational and logistical functions, including:
* Asset management and surplus coordination for all branches and museums.
* Coordinating giveaway deliveries and managing maintenance service calls across the network.
* Assisting the Project Management team with facility improvements and repair-related tasks.
* Providing support to the Creative team with graphic design, special events, and other assignments as needed.
Applicants must possess least six months of experience working with the public in an educational or public library setting.
Competitive candidates will possess experience with asset management, intake and tracking of inventory such as printers, phones, and other office items, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, the creation of marketing material, assisting the public in a library setting, and helping with educational events such as set up, take down, or other public event needs.
This position follows a 9/80 schedule.
Flexibility working evenings and/or weekends may be required depending on department needs.
Under general supervision, performs advanced paraprofessional and entry level professional duties which involve basic technical and analytic work in economic development, performs other related duties as required.
The Development Specialist I is the entry level professional classification in the Development Specialist series and reports to an appropriate supervisory or manager level position.
Incumbents are assigned to one of the following departments within the County of Riverside: Office of Economic Development, Department of Housing & Workforce Solutions, Facilities Management Department, or Aviation within the Transportation & Land Management Agency.
Incumbents receive training in the principles, methods and resources used in economic development, or related duties.
The majority of the duties are clearly defined and have established guidelines requiring basic interpretations.
Incumbents, when assisting with the routine or less complex professional work, receive detailed and frequent review.
The Development Specialist I is distinguished from the Development Specialist II in that the latter is the fully qualified journey level classification in the series, having greater scope of responsibility and requiring the exercise of independent judgment.
