ROLE OVERVIEW:
Greif is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic in-house Legal Department.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an early-career attorney to work closely with experienced legal professionals and contribute to key aspects of our business.

The successful candidate will provide legal support in areas such as contracts, compliance, corporate governance, employment, M&A and securities.

This role is ideal for a proactive legal professional eager to grow and build a strong foundation in corporate law.

Key Responsibilities:


* Assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of contracts, including customer, supplier, and commercial agreements.


* Support regulatory compliance efforts by monitoring legal developments and helping implement related policies and procedures.


* Conduct legal research and provide concise, practical advice on corporate, compliance, securities and employment law matters.


* Assist with legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions, including due diligence and integration.


* Participate in corporate governance processes and assist in preparing board and regulatory filings.


* Help manage legal risk through policy development, training, and internal investigations.


* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and support cross-functional teams on legal issues related to business operations.


* Coordinate with outside counsel and internal legal team members on ongoing legal matters.


* Contribute to Legal Department initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Education and Experience:


* Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.


* Licensed to practice law in the U.S.

and in good standing with at least one state bar; Ohio bar preferred or willingness to obtain.


* 3–5 years of legal experience, preferably a combination of law firm and in-house practice.


* Strong foundation in corporate law, contracts, and compliance.
