Lead Software Engineer - Quality Engineering

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Deposits platform team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities


* Designs and implements creative quality solutions, including test strategies and automation, to address complex software challenges.


* Develops and reviews secure, high-quality test code and automation scripts, and troubleshoots issues to ensure robust software quality.


* Identifies and automates remediation of recurring defects to enhance operational stability and reduce manual intervention.


* Leads evaluations of quality tools and platforms with internal teams, ensuring alignment with system architecture and quality standards.


* Drives communities of practice in Quality Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new testing technologies and methodologies.


* Fosters a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect, supporting collaboration and professional growth in quality initiatives.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience


* Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability


* Experience in Core Java, Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber, Groovy, Postman, JMeter, REST Assured, API, Eclipse IDE, Maven, Jenkins, IntelliJ and similar tools,


* Proficiency in automation, SDLC and continuous delivery methods


* Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security


* Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)


* In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems


* Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Experience in AWS services (EKS, ECS, EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, Lambda, Aurora Postgres, Route53, ELB, API Gateway), Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and practical cloud-native experience.


* Experience creating scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka for financial services; utilizing CI/CD toolsets, including GIT, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, Junit, and Mockito to develop high-quality software
