Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products Operation is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Manufacturing Engineer - Converting role supporting the Consumer Products Group Operations located in Zachary, LA.

The Port Hudson facility uses integrated technology to manufacture tissue and paper towel products in a progressive production environment.

The Manufacturing Engineer in Converting at Georgia-Pacific focuses on optimizing and improving the converting processes involved in manufacturing products such as paper, packaging, and related products.

Their role is crucial in ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production.

Our Team

The Port Hudson Plant is located just north of Baton Rouge, LA and west of Zachary, LA.

The Port Hudson mill employs about 350 people and has two tissue/towel paper machines and produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names of Quilted Northern® and Brawny®.

What You Will Do


* Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture


* Analyze and evaluate current converting processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost


* Develop and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance production capabilities


* Lead and manage projects related to process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new technology implementation


* Coordinate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and quality to ensure successful project execution


* Utilize data analysis tools to monitor production processes and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement


* Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders


* Collaborate with equipment vendors and suppliers to evaluate new technologies and equipment for potential implementation


* Oversee the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new and existing equipment


* Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure products meet industry standards and customer specifications
