Hygiene Manager - voco Cairo Arabella Plaza

At voco™ Cairo Arabella Plaza, we know that true hospitality starts with a safe and hygienic environment.

We are looking for a Hygiene Manager to lead and implement our food safety and hygiene programs, ensuring compliance with IHG standards and local regulations.

In this role, you will safeguard the well-being of our guests and colleagues, maintain the highest cleanliness standards across all hotel operations, and provide training and guidance to our teams to ensure a culture of safety and care.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:


* Implement and maintain hygiene standards across all work areas, kitchens, stores, receiving, and disposal areas.


* Monitor, assist, and enforce all procedures and protocols to ensure a safe, hygienic, and sanitary environment in compliance with IHG standards and local regulations.


* Conduct regular kitchen inspections (daily spot checks, monthly audits, and sanitation inspections) covering personal hygiene, food handling, equipment, storage, and environmental conditions; issue reports and corrective action plans.


* Oversee food safety practices, including monitoring food storage, rotation, labeling, and temperature control of refrigerators, freezers, and received items.


* Inspect food holding, transport, and kitchen equipment to ensure compliance with hygiene requirements.


* Maintain accurate records of food safety and hygiene forms, audits, inspections, corrective actions, and reports.


* Organize and lead food safety meetings and training sessions for all kitchen, stewarding, and service staff.


* Conduct hygiene audits of associates, provide feedback, and develop on-the-job training to improve performance.


* Liaise with external agencies (laboratories, government bureaus, health practitioners) for testing, inspections, and sanitary compliance.


* Coordinate microbial food tests for new suppliers, products, and in case of foodborne illness complaints.


* Conduct vendor inspections in collaboration with the Purchasing Department and Executive Chef.


* Liaise with the Pest Control Company and Housekeeping on pest prevention, monitoring, and performance reviews.


* Work closely with management to ensure continuous improvement in hygiene standards and food safety culture throughout the hotel.

What we need from you


* Minimum two to three years of work experience as a Hygiene Manager in a 4/5 stars hotel.


* Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards, Certifications.


* Hygiene Certification


* HACCP Certification
