Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw)

Salary circa £44,000 per annum(negotiable based on skills and experience) plus brilliant benefits

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor, looking for a new role with a great employer?  Come and join us at Home Group and be part of the Commercial team.  You’ll support us in providing a high-quality, cost-effective repairs and maintenance service for our properties across the North East driving cost control and efficiency of spend. 

Typical day as a Quantity Surveyor


* Supporting our teams in delivering value for money services working closely with our trades, maintenance managers, subcontractors and suppliers.  You’ll be ensuring high levels of performance, productivity, quality, compliance and cost-effective services. 


* Conducting site visits to measure and value works including pricing, negotiating and agreeing budgets and cost variations, as well as checking project costs.


* Monitoring contractor performance, cost to serve analysis, cost breakdown, demand understanding, workload and workforce profiling.


* Management of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.


* Ensure the effective use of our works order systems, maximising efficient use of work scheduling and ensuring accurate data recording.

You bring


* A degree or strong equivalent operational experience in Quantity Surveying. 


* Knowledge of procurement rules and legislation with excellent organisation and time management skills


* Knowledge of housing repairs and improvements, including experience of Building Regulations, systems and materials, and confident working to specifications, contracts and data.


* Experience of communication with employees, customers and stakeholders, with the ability to support and challenge colleagues and contractors to work in the most cost-effective way.


* A current driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for work.  We’ll pay your mileage costs for using your vehicle at work.
