COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time.
While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range.
We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.
* Engineer II Pay Range: $88,000 - $98,000
* Engineer I Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000
Join Our Seams & AFC Support team as an Engineer I or II !
Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking an Engineer I or II to join our Seams & AFC Support team.
This position plays a key role in supporting critical systems, applications, and modeling tools that ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the bulk electric system across regional boundaries.
As a subject matter expert, you will help manage and enhance processes related to Available Flowgate Capacity (AFC) calculations, Market-to-Market coordination, Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs), FERC Tariff compliance, and NERC/NAESB standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about energy systems, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to contribute to the stability and innovation of the electric grid.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as a subject matter expert for Seams & AFC systems and tools.
* Analyze and improve AFC and Market-to-Market processes to optimize transmission usage.
* Ensure compliance with FERC Orders, NERC Standards, and NAESB practices.
* Develop and maintain operations procedures and documentation.
