Director of Software Engineering

As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's Employee Platform: Workforce Technology team, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments.
Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
* Lead technology and process implementations as solution architect to achieve functional technology objectives
* Partner with Data Product and Data Engineer teams on deliver firmwide data strategies for analytics and AI Models
* Partner with Learning Product teams to accomplish the key business deliverables including streamline learn offerings
* Partner with Product Delivery Manager and Finance to maintain Jira backlog priorities, roadmap generation, and resource allocations
* Make decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
* Carry governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
* Deliver technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
* Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
* Champion the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification on team leadership concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
In addition, 5+ years experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
* Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams of technologists
* Experience with Product Owner and Product Manager
* Expertise in Agile Methodology including tools like Jira and Jira Align
* Experience in architectural design and data modeling
* Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
* Experience in running roadmap planning and resource allocations
* Practical cloud native experience
* Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Full stack development - Java
* Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and AI Model / Agents development using AWS Bedrock
* UX Design experience with Figma
* Experience with Databricks and Immuta
* Reporting such as Business Objects, Tableau, QuickSight
