Senior Middleware Administrator

Description & Requirements

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Middleware Software Administrator to contribute to design, deployment, and support of middleware technologies that enable seamless communication between applications.

This role demands deep understanding in middleware platforms such as but not limited to Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL platforms, Apache Tomcat, and JBoss.

This role will play a significant part in ensuring performance, operations & maintenance, scalability, and security across our application ecosystem.

This position is remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform work submitted by the project when reporting application issues such as performance and service availability.
- Application service management for all managed instances which includes monitoring request for compliance with corporate change policy standards.
- Manage the execution of all environmental changes such as deployments or key configuration changes performed outside the application.
- Manage the shutdown, recovery and testing of all impacted applications during Operating System patching cycles.
- Perform new environment startups and builds which comply with the application administration build standards.
- Manage application administrations and user provisioning as required or when these tasks cannot be delegated without introducing stability issues within the supported solution.
- Participate in after- hours support for assistance in production recovery or time sensitive changes which can only occur outside of standard business hours.
- Provide cross team mentoring and training to assist in propagating application knowledge to the junior team members and assist in strengthening their skills to avoid accidental application impacts to supported environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer, configure, and maintain middleware platforms across development, test, and production.
- Troubleshoot performance and integration issues, lead root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with developers, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Monitor system performance, implement tuning, and manage SSL/security compliance.
- Support patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery.
- Document configurations and operational procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an additional 4 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency with Unix shell scripting, automation tools (Puppet/Ansible), clustering, and load balancing.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience across all phases of the system development life cycle.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 5+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Master's degree preferred.
