Senior General Accountant

Job Description:

The Senior General Accountant is a critical role responsible for performing a variety of Accounting duties for the growing $400M+ Warfighter Systems division.

This General Accountant III will be an important business partner to the finance leadership and help ensure accurate and timely reporting.

This role requires flexibility and an interest in financial reporting and general ledger responsibilities.

The Senior General Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager for the Warfighter Systems division in Roanoke, VA.

Key job responsibilities include:


* Prepare Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and supporting schedules.


* Perform monthly closing activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting as required.


* Analyze and resolve accounting discrepancies and implement corrective action plans.


* Manage fixed asset setup, data tracking, reporting, and analysis.


* Maintain intercompany reporting and reconciliation between Warfighter Systems and other divisions.


* Assist with quarterly and annual audit procedures.


* Assist with quarterly physical inventory counts.


* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

CPA is a plus but not required.


* Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred.


* Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in fast-paced environment.


* Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written.)


* Overall mindset of continuous improvement.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to be able to proactively identify and implement process improvements.


* Advanced expertise with MS Excel including complex formulas and pivot tables.


* Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
