Expert Emergency Response and Fire Safety

The EHS department of the Beerse site is looking for an Expert Emergency Response and Fire Safety.

Major responsibilities



* You provide operational and administrative support to the internal fire brigade; i.e.

fleet, infrastructure and equipment management, document management, …


* You manage the emergency preparedness exercise program


* You give training on emergency preparedness and response and on fire safety to the voluntary fire brigade, crisis team and other dedicated functions


* You serve as the back-up for the lead of the internal fire brigade


* You advise on fire safety and technical safety, more specific for changes and (construction) projects.


* You participate as expert in risk assessments


* You represent EHS on the work floor to support in incident investigations, input for management of change, advice on technical topics.


* You assist internal and external audits with local government and insurance company.


* You participate in an on-call system in the context of internal emergency planning at the Beerse site to act as officer on duty of the internal fire brigade outside working hours (+/- 15 weeks / years)

Our expectations



* You have a technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.


* You have knowledge and experience in the field of fire safety (higher fire academy)


* You have a degree in prevention advisor level 2 or are willing to acquire this.


* You are trained as a firefighter.


* You are trained as (minimum) petty officer for the fire brigade (or equivalent experience) or are willing to acquire this.


* You are medically fit to act as fireman (medical examination and VO2max test (min 45))


* You live in a 15-minute radius of the Beerse site to be able to act as officer on duty of the internal fire brigade.


* You are skilled in working with IT systems and emergency equipment and hardware
