Receiving and Inventory Control Lead

Position Summary:

The Receiving and Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing the receiving, inspection, and storage of raw materials, components, and supplies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role ensures accurate inventory control to support production schedules, minimize downtime, and maintain optimal material availability for manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


* Lead daily operations of the receiving area, ensuring all raw materials, components, and supplies are unloaded, inspected, and accurately recorded.


* Verify shipments against purchase orders and material specifications; document and report any discrepancies to procurement and quality control teams.


* Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines to meet manufacturing schedules.


* Maintain organized and labeled storage areas for raw materials, WIP (work in progress), and finished goods.


* Perform regular inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations to maintain system accuracy and prevent material shortages.


* Monitor usage of raw materials and update inventory systems to ensure accurate, real-time data for production planning.


* Supervise, train, and mentor receiving and inventory staff, fostering a culture of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.


* Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and industry regulations, including OSHA and company-specific standards.


* Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.


* Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and Procurement teams to resolve inventory or material flow issues quickly.


* Generate detailed reports on material availability, inventory accuracy, and performance metrics for management review.


* Follows safety requirements for the facility and position, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follows environmental and hazardous waste disposal procedure.


* Participates in process improvements and other operational activities.


* Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:


* High School Diploma


* 3 years of experience in manufacturing receiving or inventory control, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity.


* Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and production scheduling.

Technical Skills:


* Forklift certification



* Experience with ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for inventory and materials management.
