Customer Support Representative ll - DPSS

The County of Riverside's Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is seeking a Customer Support Representative II who will be assigned to Riverside, CA.

The incumbent will serve in the department's Administrative Services Division, Material Management Unit, which supports DPSS sites throughout Riverside County.

The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering office supplies, picking up closed files, returning salvage items, receiving and verifying vendor shipments, processing orders, providing customer support to both internal and external customers, assisting the customer service help desk, and interacting with DPSS Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and various DPSS programs and offices.

The Customer Support Representative II will also be tasked with operating a pallet jack and forklift to store, move, and/or retrieve inventory of supplies and equipment.

Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for driving a 24-foot box truck, including loading and unloading supplies, materials, and equipment from trucks.

The candidate must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and drive for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

The candidate may also occasionally work overtime as needed.

The most competitive candidate will possess warehouse experience; the ability to safely operate a pallet jack and forklift; the ability to drive company vehicles to make deliveries, including a 24-foot box truck; and excellent customer service skills.

Additionally, the department seeks candidates with experience using Microsoft Excel and Outlook, internet competency, knowledge of basic arithmetic, and experience delivering supplies.

CENTRALIZED MAIL SUPPORT
• Independently carry out the full range of mailroom functions and procedures: sort, weigh, presort, bundle, label, and tray mail by zip code in order to prepare mail for U.S.

mail pick-up or drop-off; determine mail classes and types of mail; operate postage-metering machines in the metering of first class and third class U.S.

mail.

• Determine production workflow in order to schedule equipment usage; complete postal forms for residual U.S.

mail and deliver the forms with the residual and presorted mail; perform data entry; may be responsible for the pick-up and delivery of registered and certified mail for the County.

• Assign required charges for and meter U.S.

mail; monitor the collection and delivery of packages by United Parcel Service and other private mail carriers; inform appropriate County departments of relevant deliveries; apply on a daily basis specific laws, rules, and policies related to the U.S.

Postal Service and mailroom operations; monitor vendor documentation and purchase order activity.
