QUALIFICATIONS:             


* Minimum high school diploma/GED required, 1-year experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities/autism, or in the field of intellectual disabilities/autism, preferred


* A Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities/autism preferred.


* Supervisory/management experience preferred

FUNCTIONAL DEFINITION

This is an exempt position which serves to oversee operational aspects of the Intellectual Disabilities Services program and supervise assigned program staff.  The position requires self-initiation; record management proficiency; solid problem solving skills and the ability to work well with all members of the Plan Team.  This position serves as program director for Older Adult Daily Living Centers, as appropriate.

General

Supports and adheres to the agency’s mission, vision, values, and code of conduct.

Is knowledgeable of and maintains compliance with all regulatory and programmatic requirements.

Coordinates preparation for operational aspects of licensing inspections, internal audits, and provider monitoring, etc.

Adheres to all agency policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Ensures the health and safety of consumers to the maximum extent possible.

Represents the Barber National Institute in a positive manner to families, team, and community members.

Coordinates and maintains effective working relationships with inter-agency support staff as well as other service agencies, parents, and the general public to further the goals and objective of the Barber National Institute and the individuals it serves.

Act as a liaison and/or lead between the BNI and ECCM, OVR or School Districts, as applicable by program.

Ensures parent/family involvement and contacts with individuals to the greatest extent possible.

Follows appropriate channels of communication and acts as the communication liaison between the management and program staff.

Ensures that all forms of required documentation and accountability for service delivery are completed professionally, accurately, and in a timely manner and maintained as required.

Scheduling

Completes and/or oversees scheduling and coordination of staff (by Service Location) and client schedules to ensure smooth program operation, effective service delivery, while maintaining compliance with regulations and service definitions.

Environment

Coordinates the opening and closing of buildings, as applicable.

Monitors condition of program area and ensures environment is safe and in good condition.

Makes formal reports regarding needed maintenance or equipment service.

Ensures that all appropriate and necessary supplies and equipment are obtained and maintained for each assigned facility.

Ensures that the overall operation of the service location is in compliance with applicable regulations.
