Air Permitting Manager (Remote)

Georgia-Pacific LLC is hiring for an Air Permitting Manager to develop air quality permit applications across Georgia-Pacific's domestic manufacturing divisions including Pulp & Paper, Building Products, and Packaging.

In this role, you will work directly with manufacturing sites to identify projects that will need an air permit, develop emission calculations, perform dispersion modeling and work with state agencies to gain environmental approvals.

This opportunity is based in Atlanta but is open to remote workers.

Must be able to travel 25%.

For this role, we anticipate paying $ 95,000 - $ 140,000 per year.

This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form .

Our Team

The Air Permitting Manager is a member of the Air Permitting Center of Excellence (COE), which serves as a central hub for air quality permitting for Georgia-Pacific's manufacturing sites across 30 states.

The Air Permitting COE consists of a team of six environmental professionals who work closely with our partners in various manufacturing divisions to better understand processes, evaluate project impacts, and solve complex problems.

This centralized approach works to ensure consistent approaches across many sites, as well as best practices.

The majority of air permit applications and analyses are performed by the Air COE in-house, with consultants used as needed for additional expertise and overflow.

What You Will Do


* Meet with facility engineers to review and identify projects that will require air permitting


* Develop a permitting pathway for each project requiring air permitting


* Prepare emissions calculations for air permit applications based on the best available emissions data


* Determine air regulatory requirements for manufacturing facilities


* Direct and review the work of third-party consultants developing air permitting analyses and applications


* Support and review refined air dispersion modeling using USEPA's AERMOD model


* Review and negotiate air permit conditions and advocate permit conditions that are consistent with operational needs and regulatory requirements


* Track the development and implementation of environmental regulations, primarily in air quality, and provide technical support to facilities on various air quality issues
