Maximus is seeking a Lead Attorney to support legal operations through supervision, litigation, compliance, staff training, issue resolution, and specialized legal coverage for a high-impact public service initiative in Mississippi.

The ideal candidate will currently reside in or near one of the following Mississippi cities: Jackson or Ridgeland

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare, review, and sign legal filings and court documents; represent clients in judicial hearings.

- Advise private counsel on cases, communicate with project staff on legal matters, and act as a compliance advisor.

- Coordinate with outside counsel for litigation, interpret regulations and policies to make recommendations, and ensure solutions align with organizational objectives.

- Develop training tools to assist staff and conduct trainings.

- Trouble shoot on various issues including IT related concerns that may be stumbling blocks for various programs.

- Train and mentor new attorney staff as needed.

- Research issues as directed.

- Assist in various fields of CSS coverage such as Bankruptcy, appeals, garnishments, liens, probate, foreclosure and other potential areas.

Minimum Requirements

- Juris Doctorate degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience required.

- Must reside in or near Jackson or Ridgeland, Mississippi

- Willing and able to work onsite

- Juris Doctorate Degree required

- Admittance to Mississippi State Bar required

- Experience with child support cases or family law preferred

- Experience with Community Resource Support services is a plus
