Data Analyst I - District Attorney

The District Attorney of Riverside County seeks to fill a Data Analyst I position to support the Data Analytics Unit in Riverside.

The Data Analyst I title is the working title for the Research Specialist I job classification.

The Data Analyst I will be responsible for planning, designing, conducting, and evaluating statistical analyses to inform officewide policy decision-making.

The candidate will also be responsible for data queries and extracting meaningful reports from the data.

Seeking candidates that p ossess a bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, d ata processing, data science, data analytics, or public policy analysis ; have previous experience with a c riminal justice agency working with data collection, data cleaning, and statistical analyses; have previous experience or are currently learning statistical programming languages, preferably in R, R Studio, R Shiny, and Stata applications.

Competitive candidates will be proficient in Power BI with experience in building dashboards, highlighting key performance indicators (KPI), and data stories.

Experience with regression analysis, including the use of causal inference methodologies, is highly desired.

• Assists in the coordination with staff and outside agencies to obtain data; designs, organizes and develops research plans and evaluation designs.

• Assist in defining study populations and sample selection criteria; generating databases and writing queries and computer programs to produce ongoing and ad hoc reports; conducts surveys and interviews and administers questionnaire forms; collects and analyzes baseline and administrative data; performs random assignment of study subjects; and, periodically posts reports to the web site.
