The Senior Sourcing Engineer is responsible for supporting New Product Development (NPD) sourcing efforts and executing Category strategies within Molex for Direct procurement of Raw Materials for our Transportation Solutions Business Unit (TSBU).

The role offers high visibility and is key in supporting Global New Product Development and Launches with a focus on Metals (Strip), Resins and outsourced Categories along with involvement and support of Supplier Relationship Management activities.

What You Will Do in Your Role

• Aligning with Category Management, New Product Development (NPD) Sourcing and demand planning to implement strategies driving value to the business through:

• Develop and Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in conjunction with Engineering, Product Development, Project Management and Category Management liaising with suppliers.

• Provide Supplier Relationship management (SRM) support for suppliers providing Metal coils/strip, Resin and seals as well as outsourced raw materials and components

• Act as a procurement single point of contact for projects, support meetings, provide insights and information related to materials, suppliers, risk & opportunity.

• Provide Total Landed Costs analysis for source selection utilizing tools and Molex Source Selection Process.

Drive the PDP and source selection process.

• Support securing price reductions through leverage creation, negotiations support and implementation of VA/VE activities

• Collaborate with Sourcing Managers across other regions & divisions to support continued improvement and best practices deployment.

• Support development of Supply agreements & Improvement of payment terms with suppliers and understanding of Total Landed Cost and related supply chain.

• Support Regional Category teams to develop, deploy, and improve material replenishment plans with focus on VMI/SOI

• Support to offset price erosions in life cycle cost of program

• Support improvements with regard to workflow and process steps

• Support supplier quality for incoming quality and resolution matters

• You will become a valued Member of the Team within the Business Unit and have responsibility and high visibility as Key contributor.

* Support and create PLANT value stream mapping and supply base strategy aligned with global procurement strategy and input/alignment from Key Stakeholders


* Promote Economic Thinking & analysis in all aspects of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)


* Support Quality Improvement Strategies within PLANT


* Ensure team engagement & alignment with NPD Sourcing for program flawless launch
