532008.Safety Management System (SMS) Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the general direction of the Senior Manager of Airport Safety, this position is responsible for assisting with regulatory inspections of both Movement and Non-movement areas, ensuring compliance with safety regulations under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 139.

This role involves monitoring hazard reporting systems, maintaining training records and SMS communications, and assisting in safety meetings and training initiatives to promote a culture of safety.

The SMS Specialist assists in risk management assessments, maintains records of safety investigations, and promotes SMS objectives across TPA.

Tampa International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation.

Employees may be required to work extended hours, alternative shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays), or in response to staffing challenges, weather conditions, or emergency situations.
