Ocean Freight Import Customer Operations Specialist
Join Our Dynamic Team at DHL Global Forwarding! We are looking for an Ocean Freight Import Customer Operations Specialist within the Ocean Freight Import Department at our Sydney Station.
Key Responsibilities:
* To act as the key point of contact for allocated customers to create, manage and close job files.
* To respond to customer queries and concerns in relation to their bookings, escalating these for resolution as required.
* To complete all bookings and prepare documentation in accordance with customer requirements and/or prevailing standard operating procedures (SOP) in a timely manner.
* To monitor shipment progress including ensuring bookings are set up and planned to meet customer specific “on time” performance
* To complete all billing requirements accurately including capturing all services sold or provided and applying revenue and costs correctly.
* To support in resolving claims and disputes.
Key Accountabilities:
* Achieving on-time delivery performance targets
* Accurate and timely data entry and transport documentation
* Ensuring all transport operations meet safety, legal, and compliance standards
* Minimizing freight costs while maintaining service levels
* Maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in transport processes
* Adhering to company values, operational KPIs, and service-level agreements (SLAs)
To be successful you will need:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in freight forwarding/logistics
* Proficiency with Cargowise
* Strong communication, analytical, and commercial negotiation skills
* High attention to detail and a proactive work ethic
* Ability to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple priorities
