Engineering Chapter Leader
Schneider Electric is looking for our next Chapter Leader & Senior Engineering Manager in Franklin, TN! This individual report to the VP of our North American Nashville hub.
Local Chapter Leaders at Schneider Electric are key leadership positions with responsibility for managing the positions, standards, competencies, career, and engagement of their people in their specific Chapter (League, COE or Squad).
Engineering Management Chapter Leaders:
* Are Servant Leaders, coaching and mentoring their people to deliver business objectives, guiding them to anticipate difficulties and address associated risk while keeping customers at the core of the strategy.
* Secure their workforce's efficiency using the appropriate methods & tools, aligned with discipline standards, proposing investments in means and managing their evolutions when specialized to a dedicated business.
* Are people managers who anticipate & develop competency evolution to support customer centric innovation in line with business / League strategy & objectives.
* Ensure consistency with career ambitions of chapter members and the Global Chapter strategy.
* Implement the set-up strategy (in terms of size, geography & partnership) defined by the Global Chapter Leader (or the HUB/LoB).
* Participate in the Chapter community regarding sharing best practice & standards.
Further Responsibilities:
* Identify chapter skills evolutions based on chapter strategy and road map
* Builds functional expertise in his/her discipline
* Continuously improves the function
* Build and implement the competency plan and upskill the Engineering team
* Experiments new learning; exhibits curiosity and challenges ideas
* Identifies & fosters opportunities for skill development (e.g., trainings, courses...)
* Develop the Chapter's Customer centric mindset
* Collaborates closely with the squads, other chapters and other stakeholders to continuously improve ways of working, tools and skills of chapter members and create stable and versatile squads
* Fosters collaboration and facilitates the success of Chapter Team members / remove barriers to support the Chapter Team members
* Deploys tools and systems to support sharing & communication
* Alert Product Owners & League team on major identified risks
* Escalate risks (if needed) to League & Global Chapter Leader
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
* Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
* Good social skills and empathy with a passion and drive for innovation
* Experience in coaching and mentoring, and sucesfully building and leading teams in a matrix environment
* Experience with complex technical projects in an Agile environment
* 10+ years of senior technology leadership experience
