Environmental Health Specialist - Level IV Indio

The Environmental Health Department is seeking an Environment Health Specialist - Level IV serving the Coachella Valley.
This position will be based at the Indio Office.
The selected candidate will perform the most comprehensive and complex assignments: specialized studies, inspections and investigations involved with the planning and enforcement of complex environmental health laws and regulations.
Candidates selected can also expect to provide electronic reports on inspections.
Divisions may include District Environmental Services, Hazardous Materials, Land Use/Water Resources and Local Enforcement Agency.
The selected candidate's experience will allow for mentoring/leading the Environmental Health Specialist Team with inspections, consultation and advising facility managers and property owners regarding conformance and compliance with federal, state and local environmental health laws, codes and regulations.
The Environmental Health Department encourages h ighly competitive candidates with current EHS experience in a senior role with proven leadership responsibilities and/or mentoring of staff to apply.
To Qualify: Candidates for the Environmental Health Specialist - Level IV position are required to possess a valid California Department of Health certificate of registration as an Environmental Health Specialist.
Work Schedule: This position requires office or field work with either a 5/40, 9/80 or 4/10 schedule.
A 5/40 schedule offers five days a week.
With a 9/80 schedule, you'll work nine-hour days for nine days over two weeks, with one day off every other week.
And, a 4/10 schedule offering four days at ten-hours with three-day weekends.
The Environmental Health Specialist IV - Desert is distinguished from the Supervising Environmental Health Specialist - Desert classification in that the latter is a first line supervisory classification and performs the full range of supervisory duties.
