Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Senior Patent Counsel, Immunology to join our Global Legal Organization located Spring House, PA, New Brunswick, NJ, San Diego, CA, or Cambridge, MA.

As a Senior Patent Counsel, Immunology, you will:


* Primarily support Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine and more specifically, the immunology business.


* Provide a full range of patent support functions, including patent preparation and prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis, rendering opinions, managing outside counsel, drafting and negotiating license and research collaboration agreements, providing due diligence support for business development and client counseling.


* Develop and execute best-in-class patent filing strategies within the Innovative Medicine patent team in an ever-evolving IP environment.


* Regularly make presentations and engage with the business regarding intellectual property and related partnership and contractual matters.
 

Qualifications:


* A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a biological or chemical-related science is required; an advanced degree or industry experience is preferred.


* A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, an active license to practice law in at least one state or the District of Columbia and admission to the USPTO or equivalent bar is required.


* A minimum of 5 years of large or small molecule patent experience at a law firm or in-house legal department of a multinational corporation is required.


* Ability to articulate and positively engage clients and internal partners is required.


* Capability to give well-organized, thoughtful presentations to upper management is required.


* A demonstrated competency in the field of pharmaceutical discovery, development, and commercialization is required.


* Working competency with protein, biologic, cellular, and/or synthetic molecule technologies with a required competency for analyzing legal matters associated with the research, development, and commercialization of protein, biologic, cellular, and/or synthe...
