Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Outpatient Benign & Hereditary Hematology and Cancer Ri

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, Days.

Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Scheduled hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

You will work at the University Hospital and Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant to:


* Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessment of patients referred with hematologic abnormalities, cancers, +/- family history of the same and/or known or suspected hereditary blood disorder or cancer predisposition syndrome.


* Perform procedures required for evaluation and treatment such as: skin punch biopsy, bone marrow biopsies with/without conscious sedation.


* Conduct longitudinal follow-up and early detection and prevention for patients and families with increased risk of bone marrow failure or blood or other cancers.


* Primarily manage and conduct longitudinal follow up for patients with hematologic conditions (ie.

anemias, hemochromatosis).

Education:

Minimum -

If Nurse Practitioner:

Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program.

If Physician Assistant:

Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program.

L icenses and Certifications:

Minimum -

If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND active board certification as a NP in Family.

If Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND active PA board certification.

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire AND CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP).
