Coastal Research Engineer

Job Description

Stevens Institute of Technology is a premier, private research university located in Hoboken, New Jersey, overlooking the Manhattan skyline.

Renowned for its innovation and interdisciplinary research, Stevens is home to the Davidson Laboratory — one of the nation’s oldest and most respected hydrodynamic and ocean engineering research centers.

The Coastal Research Engineer will support research efforts focused on coastal resilience.

This role involves applying technical expertise to advance research initiatives, improve methodologies, and support data collection related to coastal systems.

Key Responsibilities:



* Apply technical knowledge and expertise to support assigned research projects.


* Develop innovative, cost-effective approaches to enhance research techniques, procedures, and technologies.


* Conduct research focused on coastal resilience.


* Collect and organize data relevant to research initiatives.

Qualifications:



* Master’s degree in Sciences or Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Compensation Range
In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the hourly base range for this position is $19 - $20.

This range represents the University’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations.

The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
