Engineer I- SolidWorks Design
Summary
Pumps & Controls is seeking a Junior Engineer with strong proficiency in SolidWorks to support our engineering and production teams in the design, development, and documentation of mechanical components and assemblies.
This is a hands-on role ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a passion for mechanical design, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Use SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems.
* Assist in the development of Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical documentation, and manufacturing instructions.
* Collaborate with senior engineers, production staff, and procurement teams to ensure designs are functional, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
* Revise and update existing designs based on feedback, engineering changes, or production needs.
* Participate in product development projects, R&D efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support testing and validation of new designs or components as needed.
* Maintain file management and version control within the company's document control systems.
* Ensure adherence to company design standards and industry best practices.
Requirements & Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field (or relevant technical associate degree with experience).
* Proficiency in SolidWorks (required); familiarity with PDM systems is a plus.
* Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerancing, and fabrication processes.
* Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
* Willingness to take direction, ask questions, and contribute ideas to engineering challenges.
* Familiarity with pumps, fluid systems, or industrial manufacturing is a plus but not required.
