PDM Cell, 1st shift

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Assemble electrical wiring harnesses, cables, Power Distribution Modules (PDM), and relay boxes using state of the art machines and hand tools.

Determine and maintain materials inside the cell.

Support both PDM and harness cell to meet customer demand.

May involve troubleshooting electrical issues.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


* PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.

Follow all safety regulations for the individual as well as other employees, including keeping the work area clean and in orderly condition as well as wearing all appropriate safety attire for the job that is being performed.

2.

Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.

3.

Measuring, cutting, stripping, and crimping wires.

4.

Installing electrical components inside PDM/Relay boxes.

5.

Maintain electrical parts inventory and order parts when needed.

6.

Complete quality checks to ensure proper assembly.

Pull, Ohm, and ESD tests.

7.

Utilize computer systems to check schedule, complete checklist, order parts, transfer inventory, create labels, and communicate issues.

8.

Organize and package complete harnesses/PDMs/cables for delivery.

9.

Follow Plant 27 general work instructions.

10.

Inspect, operate, and test products to ensure that customer expectations are met.

11.

Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and wiring problems and use critical thinking to solve problems.

12.

Perform all duties assigned by the supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including earplugs, safety glasses and/or goggles, and steel toe boots/shoes.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

EXPERIENCE:

Electrical background is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Electrical background, ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, mechanical skills, troubleshooting skills preferred.

Also must be familiar with and able to identify wiring gauge sizes.

Basic computer skills and the ability to expand on those skills is required.

TOOLS:

Hand tools, power tools, cutters, crimpers, test light, torch, tape measure.
