Janitor
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain cleanliness and orderliness within our manufacturing plant.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the plant, including production floors, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and hallways, are kept clean and sanitized.
The Janitor will play a key role in maintaining a safe, healthy, and efficient work environment for all employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Clean and sanitize production floors, work areas, restrooms, offices, break rooms, and common spaces.
* Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness and safety.
* Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to plant policies.
* Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors to maintain a clear, professional appearance.
* Replenish restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper) and ensure restroom cleanliness throughout the shift.
* Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and machinery as needed, following safety procedures.
* Assist in maintaining plant's safety protocols by ensuring that all cleaning materials are stored correctly and used properly.
* Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
* Assist with the setup and breakdown of special events, meetings, or other plant activities as requested.
* Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines while performing janitorial tasks.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and techniques.
* Ability to lift to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Basic knowledge of safety standards and handling cleaning materials in accordance with regulations.
* Good communication skills and ability to interact with plant staff in a professional manner.
Education and Experience
* Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
* Experience: 1 years in a manufacturing or production environment.

Physical Requirements
* Standing: Prolonged periods of standing required.
* Walking: Frequent movement between workstations.
* Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
* Other: The role requires upper body strength and back muscle endurance for lifting and moving objects.

* Environment: Light manufacturing setting with exposure to wet and humid conditions, mechanical parts, and temperature variations (cold in winter, heat in summer).
