About the role:

Alcoa is seeking a Senior Director – Financial Accounting to join the Corporate Controllership team based in the Alcoa Corporate Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

An exciting and meaningful role at the center of Alcoa’s in-house expertise on technical accounting matters.

 The Corporate Controllership team consists of highly qualified CPAs with extensive experience in financial accounting and business matters.

Situated next to Alcoa’s Executive Team, this is a highly visible role.

The Senior Director Financial Accounting is responsible for providing expert accounting guidance across the global organization, reviewing the monthly consolidated financial results, and evaluating and implementing new accounting policies.

This role works closely with the Regional Finance Directors in evaluating the company’s most complex accounting and reporting topics, including complex commercial contracts, treasury arrangements, derivatives, restructuring, currency valuation, pension and other postemployment benefits, purchase and sale accounting for acquisition and divestitures, use of estimates and judgements, and other complex matters.

The role requires the candidate to leverage their exceptional technical research expertise, outstanding project management abilities and top-notch communication capabilities in a collaborative and dynamic team.  The role offers a high degree of learning opportunities both in terms of Alcoa’s business and technical accounting knowledge and interacts across multiple disciplines at all levels within the organization.

The role requires a results-oriented, collaborative, strategic thinker, with outstanding communication skills who demonstrates the highest level of integrity and trust.

This role reports to the Vice President, Controllership.

Major activities include:


* Manage a team of 5+ talented accountants and CPAs, who are responsible for technical accounting and reporting research, and pension accounting.


* Provide technical accounting guidance across the global organization for Alcoa’s most complex accounting and reporting topics in accordance with U.S.

GAAP.


* Manage the current and upcoming accounting issues/projects, ensuring appropriate planning, resourcing, execution, communication, and training to the global accounting community and drive timely resolution.
