Manufacturing Engineer
Your Job
Define, develop, and oversee the implementation of new manufacturing processes-primarily for Raytheon connectors and cable assemblies-or improvements to existing processes.
You'll ensure exceptional product quality, drive cost-efficiency, and maintain full compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
Our Team
You will join our Manufacturing Engineering group, a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-reliability interconnect solutions for aerospace and defense customers.
We partner closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Operations to bring innovative, cost-effective manufacturing processes from concept to production.
What You Will Do
• Partner with design engineers to translate new product requirements into robust, compliant manufacturing processes
• Lead process qualification efforts, including PFMEAs, Control Plans, First Article Inspections and Capability Studies
• Analyze and optimize existing workflows-applying Lean layouts, work-force planning and digital-factory tools-to maximize efficiency
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering on root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
• Develop Statements of Work for capital equipment and manage on-site vendor assessments and audits
• Provide Design for Manufacturability feedback to upstream product teams, balancing cost, quality, and operator usability
• Calculate and update accurate manufacturing costs for new or improved processes; track ROI and savings metrics
• Employ Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and problem-solving across the production floor
• Represent Manufacturing Engineering during customer visits, audits, and internal presentations
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• 2-3 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or high-reliability interconnects
• Working knowledge of Lean principles and Six Sigma problem-solving tools
• Proficiency with CAD (PTC Creo or equivalent) for tooling, jig, and fixture design
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills; able to tailor messages for engineers, managers, and customers
What Will Put You Ahead
• Green Belt or Black Belt Six Sigma certification
• Experience developing cable-assembly or connector manufacturing processes for Raytheon or other aerospace primes
• Demonstrated success in process qualification per NADCAP or similar standards
• Familiarity with Digital Factory connectivity, MES systems, and data-driven process monitoring
• Prior experience conducting supplier audits and negotiating complex Statements of Work
