Overview

The Pastry Supervisor is responsible for baking various desserts for our kitchen.

This position is critical in maintaining the quality and consistency of product that is served in our establishment.

Some of the duties include following recipes to create pastries, cookies and other baked goods, developing new and unique recipes to feature on the menu and keeping stock of the kitchen's inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


* Support the management of the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs


* Prepare a variety of baked goods


* Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way


* Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment


* Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions


* Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations


* Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel and train them


* Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends

Qualifications and Skills


* Hotel experience preferred.


* Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery with or without reasonable accommodation.


* Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs.

on a continuous schedule with or without reasonable accommodation.


* Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

Salary Range: $27.60 - $27.60 Hourly
